Each HiME has a element in which each HiME can create except the artificially created HiMEs. They form into a kind of weapon that they can do combat with, but, a couple have non-combat elements such as Yukino's mirrors.
Each HiME also has a Child in which is a creature that they summon for battle. In the anime, the HiMEs can summon their child once they have accepted it. They are link to the HiMEs most important person or their Key. If the Child dies the HiMEs most important person dies and the HiME loses her power.
